Texas Southern University and BeyGOOD Celebrate Legacy and Future Growth
By Texas Southern University proudly joined forces with Beyoncé during the recent Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Houston, hosting university administrators and the iconic “Ocean of Soul” marching band in the exclusive BeyGOOD suite. This gathering was not only a celebration of Beyoncé’s triumphant return to her hometown but also a testament to BeyGOOD’s steadfast commitment to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
Expressing deep gratitude, Texas Southern’s leadership thanked Mrs. B and BeyGOOD for their ongoing support and investment in the university’s future. Under BeyGOOD’s Pursue Change initiative, a generous $100,000 grant was awarded to Texas Southern’s band department. This funding is earmarked to bolster scholarships, enhance recruitment and retention efforts, and facilitate critical upgrades to infrastructure and technology, all vital components to sustaining the excellence of the “Ocean of Soul” and the broader TSU community.
