STEM Day — Rise of the Superheroes

On Saturday, September 27th TSU TRIO and the Department of Physics had 126 attendees participate in our first annual TRIO STEM Day: Rise of the Superheroes held at Texas Southern University Science Building from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

The experience was created for students to re-imagine possibilities of STEM, specifically physics, by shifting students’ mindset from seeing it as mundane to viewing themselves as superheroes and change agents. In an evolving world full of new inventions and creativity, we are shaping tomorrow’s STEM leaders by bringing what once seemed distant within reach. On this day, possibilities became accessible and attainable.

TRIO STEM Day sparked curiosity, empowered imagination, and planted the seeds of possibility in the minds of the next generation of change makers.

This special event was a collaboration between the TRIO Pre-Collegiate programs and the TSU Department of Physics under the leadership of Ms. Jasper Ross, Trio Stem Coordinator, Dr. Victor Migenes, Department Chair Person, and Ms. Deanna Ashley, Executive Director of Trio Programs.
