Thurgood Marshall School of Law to Host Inaugural Race Judicata 5K and 4th Annual Crawfish Boil & Fish Fry

The Thurgood Marshall School of Law (TMSL) at Texas Southern University will host its Inaugural Race Judicata 5K Run/Walk alongside the 4th Annual Crawfish Boil & Fish Fry, taking place on Saturday, March 28, on the campus of Texas Southern University. These two fundraisers will provide scholarship support for TMSL students.

This day-long celebration will be held in Lot E (3530 Wheeler), in front of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. It is open to students, alumni, faculty, and the greater Houston community.

The Race Judicata 5K Run/Walk will kick off the day, with runners beginning at 8:30 a.m. and walkers following at 8:45 a.m. Participants will compete for cash prizes awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. The race will also feature local vendors and a recovery station offering complimentary massages to participants.

Following the race, festivities will continue with the 4th Annual Crawfish Boil & Fish Fry, beginning at noon. Attendees can enjoy fresh crawfish and fried fish, along with live entertainment by the renowned Step Rideau and the Zydeco Outlaws, a DJ, vendors, dancing, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

“These events are not only an opportunity for fellowship and community engagement, but they also directly support student scholarships and programming at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law,” said Attorney BJ Kemp, Chair of the Crawfish Boil Committee. “We are proud to create experiences that bring people together while investing in the success and future of our students.”

Guests are encouraged to participate in both events and experience the vibrant spirit of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law community.
