Texas Southern University Names Dr. Aisha Moultry Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Texas Southern University has named Dr. Aisha Moultry, Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.S as Interim Dean of College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, effective December 9, 2025. 

Dr. Moultry is an experienced administrator, educator, and researcher with more than 20 years in higher education, recognized for advancing student success, program development, and institutional growth. 

In 2022, Dr. Moultry was appointed Interim Dean/Executive Director of the newly established College of Transdisciplinary Studies (COTS), where she led the launch of 12 degree programs designed for non-traditional learners and helped expand student enrollment and degree completion. Under her leadership, close to 350 students have completed degrees, and enrollment grew from seven students in the college’s first semester to 185 in the fall 2025 semester. 

Her time at Texas Southern also includes key leadership positions within the COPHS, including Interim Assistant Dean for Student Services, where she enhanced student services and secured funding grants from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for student programming. She later became the Associate Dean of Clinical and Administrative Services, leading a 60,000-square-foot building renovation and establishing an Interdisciplinary Health Professions Simulation Center. She also served as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, overseeing academic programs, accreditation, establishing student retention programming, supporting faculty, and securing a $3.25 million HRSA grant for student scholarships. Additionally, she served as the Interim Assistant Dean of Practice Programs during a pandemic to ensure consistent placement of students while developing flexible practices for students during this period.

Dr. Moultry earned her PharmD from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She also holds a master’s in Health System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University. 

A national search for the permanent Dean of COPHS will begin in Spring 2026, with additional details to be shared as the process moves forward.
