Texas Southern University Set for SWAC Volleyball Tournament Friday

Texas Southern University volleyball competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday at 6:30 p.m., taking on Alabama State at Florida A&M.

The Lady Tigers enter postseason play after closing the regular season with a sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on November 14 and a tight five-set battle at Grambling State on November 16. Texas Southern hit .375 and .257 in the first and third sets of the Arkansas-Pine Bluff win, led by Gracie Lee’s 15 kills and Ava Ray’s 19 digs. 

Against Grambling, Texas Southern out-blocked the Tigers 16.0 to 5.0 and posted strong offensive stretches, highlighted by 19.5 points from Gracie Hill and 18.5 from Kourtni Collier.

With eight victories and seven losses, Texas Southern looks to carry its momentum into tournament play on Friday night.

Now, Texas Southern looks to carry its momentum into the SWAC Tournament as the Lady Tigers take the court against Alabama State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Florida A&M.
