Texas Southern University Football Debuts New Helmets at Homecoming, Courtesy of Alumnus Michael Strahan
By The Texas Southern University Tigers took the field in style for Homecoming, wearing brand-new helmets donated by alumnus and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan.
The upgraded Riddell Speedflex helmets—widely considered the top-performing model in NFL and NFLPA safety tests—feature a sleek maroon finish, gray facemasks, and custom Texas Southern University detailing. Each helmet displays the Texas Southern University Athletics logo on one side and the player’s number on the other.
“The Department of Athletics and the Tiger football program is elated to receive this donation from Michael Strahan,” said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger. “From one Texas Southern University alum to another, I want to thank him personally for his generosity and support of our football program.”
The new look made its debut in front of a spirited Homecoming crowd, adding another layer of pride to an already meaningful game.
