Ocean of Soul Delivers Rhythm and Passion in Star Quality Performance at Berkeley

During Saturday’s fervent matchup between Texas Southern Tigers and UC Berkeley Golden Bears, Texas Southern University “Ocean of Soul” Marching Band executed an outstanding halftime show at University of California, Berkeley.

The encounter took place at California Memorial Stadium, with a total of 35,898 thriving spectators, where Cal won in their home 35–3. Both teams showcased great proficiency, with Texas Southern strong defense the first half of the game and Cal tenacity in the last half.

With a powerful drum line, followed by trumpets, trombones, and more, the game’s halftime was led by Texas Southern marching band, Ocean of Soul, who executed a wonderful performance for the crowd.

In their performance, they opened with “Talkin’ Out the Side of Your Neck” as introduction —keeping Ocean of Soul legacy. And then a “Holiday” band arrangement, originally by Green Day brought a forceful energy to the field.

Ocean of Soul was accompanied by Motion of the Ocean, commonly shortened to Motion, the band dance line, who bedazzled everyone at the rhythm of the upbeat “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” band arrangement, originally by Kylie Minogue.

Finally, they ended with the band members in formation spelling “TX – CA”!
