Making Their Mark: Texas Southern Launches Groundbreakers Wall

Texas Southern University, in partnership with Tiger Dining powered by Chartwells Higher Education, has unveiled the “Ground Breakers” Wall, a new installation located inside Sterling Dining Hall that recognizes students, faculty, and staff who are creating meaningful change.

The Ground Breakers Wall was created to honor members of the Texas Southern University community who are making a difference through leadership, service, or innovation. Designed to be both a celebration and a source of inspiration, the wall will feature a new group of honorees each month.

For the inaugural year, honorees are selected by the leaders of the Core 6 organizations:

  • Student Government Association
  • The Royal Court
  • University Program Council
  • The Texas Southern Herald
  • Campus PALS
  • Tiger Ambassadors
Meet the First Honorees

The first three Tigers featured on the Ground Breakers Wall are:

  • Pynk Ellzey – Senior
    78th President, Student Government Association
  • Kayden Thompson – Sophomore
    Associate Justice, Student Government Association
  • Landon Reneau – Junior
Member, Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals

Each of these students has demonstrated dedication to their peers, organizations, and the broader Texas Southern University community.

The Ground Breakers Wall is a joint effort between Tiger Dining, Chartwells Higher Education, and Texas Southern University Student Life and Engagement. Together, they aim to recognize and elevate the individuals who are shaping the future of the university.
