By The Ocean of Soul Alumni Chapter (OOSAC) is more than a support system; it’s a vibrant engine of service, legacy, and connection. With over a dozen active committees, OOSAC keeps alumni engaged, current students supported, and traditions preserved.
OOSAC’s committees drive community, support, and tradition across the Ocean of Soul network. From outreach during times of need to organizing student services, designing alumni merchandise, and managing communications, each group plays a key role. Committees also lead fundraising, scholarships, and member engagement, while others focus on preserving history, planning homecoming, and supporting dance and flag squads. Together, they ensure the Ocean of Soul remains strong, connected, and forward-moving.
Beyond events, OOSAC continues to nurture the next generation through mentoring, recruitment, and scholarships. The Ronald B. Thornton Scholarship, named after the revered assistant director and bandleader, honors leadership both on the field and in the classroom.
